DESCRIPTION:Bitterroot Discovery Children’s Museum is pleased to announce our next month-long experience! Our wonderful friends at Sapphire Early Learning Center in Stevensville have generously allowed us to use a portion of their facility for the month of May to bring you “Small but Mighty: Growing Strong from Farm to Table.” \n\n\nStep into a world where food\, farms\, and buzzing pollinators come to life! Our new experience is a hands-on\, family-friendly chance for kids and caregivers to explore how food makes its way from soil to supper\, and how it helps our bodies grow strong. Through interactive play\, children will discover the important roles of gardens\, local farmers\, and pollinators in growing nutritious foods. With a farmer’s market\, garden play\, nutrition education\, and engaging pollination activities\, this immersive exhibit helps families build connections between healthy eating\, local agriculture\, and everyday choices. Come learn\, play\, and grow with us!

DESCRIPTION:Bitterroot Valley residents are invited to a free community film night focused on wildfire preparedness and building local resilience. \nOn Friday\, May 15 from 6:30–9 p.m.\, the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) and Fire in the Root Council will host a screening of Elemental: Reimagine Wildfire at the Bitterroot River Inn. The event is free and open to the public. \nNarrated by David Oyelowo\, Elemental explores the growing impact of wildfire across the American West\, including the destruction of Paradise\, California. Featuring insights from experts\, Indigenous voices\, and fire practitioners\, the film challenges viewers to rethink our relationship with fire in a changing climate. \nA panel discussion and Q&A will follow\, featuring wildfire experts including Jack Cohen\, Bitterroot National Forest Fire Management Officer Matthew Young\, and retired CalFire Chief Joe Pidgeon.
