Strengthen Our Community. \nBuilding a resilient and self-reliant Bitterroot Valley begins by reconnecting with the skills that help us care for ourselves\, one another\, and our local food system. \nIn this hands-on workshop\, you’ll watch the process\, learn alongside others\, and gain practical experience in: \n\nHumane livestock harvesting and basic pig anatomy\nSkinning and quartering a pot-bellied pig for roasting\nUnderstanding how the hide is prepared for a traditional whole-pig roast\nPreparing\, storing\, and cooking the meat\nStrengthening local food security through shared skills and community knowledge\n\nEach participant will take home approximately 30 pounds of quartered pot-bellied pork to prepare and enjoy. \nIn Farmer Henry’s words: “Kill it and grill it!” \n~ Part of our Heritage Skills Workshop Series
