All rivers are a sum of their parts and the health of a river depends upon the health of its parts. That’s why the Bitterroot Water Partnership focuses our restoration work on the many streams leading to the Bitterroot River.
We’re excited to invite you to a deep dive into our upcoming restoration of the Tolan Creek watershed, where we’ll implement cutting-edge approaches across nearly 150 acres to restore extremely degraded headwaters habitat. Come learn about this grand project happening in your backyard and how other projects like these impact you and the Bitterroot waters you love!
If you’ve ever enjoyed our Blue-Ribbon fisheries, you don’t want to miss this opportunity to learn about fisheries-forward conservation work happening right here in our favorite place – home!
As always, this project isn’t just for fish (or fishy people). Wetland re-establishment will restore critical habitat for other wildlife, too, like bald eagles, elk, moose, and more. We hope to see many of you there, no matter your passion. Anglers, hunters, birders, wildlife enthusiasts, science nerds, river rafters: this one’s for you.
